prevents moisture migration from the soil and acts as a barrier against soil gases like radon
and methane. Its composition and thickness allow it to exceed relevant ASTM standards,
making it an optimal choice for various encapsulation projects. It can also be used for radiant
barrier applications by reversing the foil side inward.

4. Material Composition
The Liner Guys Radiant Crawl Space Vapor Barrier is composed of a bright white cross-woven
polyethylene skin, laminated to a high-density flexible foam core, and metalized film (foil
backing). This triple-ply, extrusion coated, virgin polyethylene membrane is manufactured
using woven high-density fibers, yielding high strength-to-weight ratio, tensile strength, and
puncture resistance. The material is flame retardant.

8. Basic Use
This product is primarily recommended for crawl space vapor barrier insulation and basement
wall vapor barrier/waterproofing projects. It is designed to prevent moisture migration , guard
against mold, mildew, allergens, fungus, radon gas, methane gas, heat loss due to damp insula
tion, wood rot, and overall degradation of the crawl space. It can also be reversed for radiant
barrier applications.

11. Installation Instructions
Proper care should be taken when installing The Liner Guys Radiant Crawl Space Vapor Barrier,
as carelessness can damage even the most puncture-resistant vapor retarders. The liner will
help guard against possible punctures and tears present from rigorous construction traffic.
Placement:
*If a sump pump is present or to be installed, slightly slope the grade in the direction of the
sump pit to allow for proper drainage.
*Tamp or roll the subbase or granular base.

*Install the vapor barrier by means of appropriate sealing methods such as double-bond tape,
mechanical fasteners, termination bars, and/or high-grade construction adhesive to the upper
portion of the block/concrete wall.
*Leave at least a three-inch gap from the sill to the top of the vapor barrier for future termite
inspection.
*Seal the top edge with urethane caulk.
*Holes or openings through the vapor barrier should be effectively sealed with all-weather
vapor tape, vapor patch, and/or vapor mastic to maintain the integrity of the vapor barrier.
*Overlap joints a minimum of six inches. Seal overlap together with all-weather vapor tape.
*Avoid driving stakes through the vapor barrier. If this cannot be avoided, each individual hole
must be repaired.
